I'm bulding up a HTPC using spare parts but had to source a new MBoard which is this ASRock board. Looking for a decent Vid card to run Kodi + a second DVI display for a security camera in Ubuntu.
I can't seem to find which version of PCIE 16X this board has. Some Vid cards are 1.1 and up only, I have a feeling this board is 1.0.
How can I find out what version of slot this is?

Just going by what I am reading in the specs of a card I am considering which seem to indicate that it is not backward compatible to 1.0:

ZOTAC GeForce GTX 650 Synergy Edition
Interface PCI Express 3.0 x16 (Compatible with 1.1)

The board is running the last version of BIOS available from ASRock.
Apparently if someone has one of these boards running Windows they can run a program called GPU-Z which will clearly state which version the slot supports.
I am not able to find a similar program for Linux. The closest I can find is Hardinfo and Sysinfo neither of which is very clear on this specific thing.

I think I figured this out.
This board uses the Intel G31 Northbridge chipset which supports PCIe 1.1.
The HardInfo output I was reading did not state this and currently it appears GPU-Z will not run in Wine.
