Hi guys!

Recently my mobo died (took to geek squad and confirmed doa, rip).

So, I need a new cpu, mobo and ram to fit my current parts. I would greatly appreciate some advice on getting these three components to provide the most bang for my buck.

I will be cannibalizing my hd/ 650 watt psu/ disc drive/ and gpu which is a hand me down gtx 480 (that is so loud it shakes my desk lol).

All I use the computer for is running wow and watching movies and streams/poker simultaneously on a second monitor.

So, I dont really need anything to beastly. I'd just like idk good settings at maybe 50 fps or better.

I'd like to do this as CHEAP as possible lol

Thanks guys!

I'd go with the unlocked pentium as it still performs well in most games, aside from those it won't even start up due to lack of threads per requirement. Try a Z97 as opposed to an H81 so that you'll have a clear upgrade path to get either a 4690K or 4790K down the line. Get a single 4GB 1866mhz dimm to remain budgeted for now, and plan to get an identical one later on to have 8GB total 2x4GB 1866

Thanks so much for the responses!

I think the i5 and ram are great for me. Is it worth it to spend extra money on a better mobo?

Also, I'd like to upgrade my gpu in the near future after i get this situation squared away what card would be good for me?
Last but not least I'd also like to use a ssd. Is the evo 850 still recommended?

Thanks again

Yes, it will really worth if you spend some more money for motherboard. Get a good H97 chipset motherboard. It can handle all the graphics card as H97 chipset motherboard is recommend for non overclocking built. If you get a newer or good motherboard then it will really worth. Tell your budget for motherboard now. Reducing the money of that CPU and RAM.
And yes still the EVO 8xx series is really recommend. They are best.
