Hi,
I am assembling a new pc and need help to choose best configuration for my requirements (Which are multipurpose). I work in research and developing different projects, so need to use lot of different applications simultaneously. So basically i need flexibility at my work. Games are secondary and any 2014 games will be enough.
The best wish requirements are
1. Games like battlefield 4, fifa 2015, fry cry 4 or late 2014 titles will do
2. Rybka/stockfish chess analysis
3. Applications like photoshop CS6 or any adobe CS6 suit, coreldraw x6, firefox multiple tabs, ms office, video editing and other high end applications.

I am looking at 600-700 dollar pc (excluding monitor) and some of the configuration i have shortlisted are

1. AMD FX-6300
GeForce GTX 750 Asus 1GB OC Edition
8GB Ram
2. AMD FX-6300
Radeon HD 7770
8GB Ram
3. Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz
Integrated graphics intel HD 4600
8GB Ram
4. Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz
Integrated graphics intel HD 4600
8GB Ram
5. Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz
GeForce GT 730 GC 1GB
8GB Ram

Desired configuration would certainly be 4 if it gets the job done. Intel processors would be most desirable since it have latest processors and have good cooling system ( which also important). I am not going to use multiple systems or retina resolution. Basically i have ipad or tv for movies. What i most require is high end multipurpose pc with gaming secondary. Any other configuration please let me know. Not running applications with at least medium end use would be deal breaker. Budget is tight, 600 dollar would be most desirable.

Also Please let me know what type of games I am expected to run well at 720p in all the above choices. Please help it is urgent, I am planning to buy with in a week.

Solution
That's config is good to go. Just a bit more advise:

As you are going with Corsair 200R Case you don't need additional case fans as it comes with super quiet 2 fans already installed (1 front & 1 rear).....and the case itself is very airy & full of space for better airflow.

Better put that Case fan money into increasing your hard drive space to 1 TB at least....as 500 GB will be full soon, given the softwares & photoshop-video files are mostly become quiet heavy & don't forget the games.(normally takes 20-30 GB these days.)

Too Expensive.. I don't need gaming for the future, gaming is secondary. I am very happy with 2014 titles, if worst 2013 titles. What do you think from the above 5 which will come the closet for my requirements?

If Ultra Gaming isn't that important you can go fo this...

1. Intel Core i5-4690 Haswell Quad-Core 3.5GHz LGA 1150 84W Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4600 BX80646I54690 @ $214

2. MSI H97 PC Mate Desktop Motherboard - Intel H97 Express Chipset - Socket H3 LGA-1150 @ $90

3. Kingston Value Ram 4GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3 1600MHz @ $82

4. EVGA 02G-P4-2966-KR GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 @ $210

5. Western Digital WD Green WD20EZRX 2TB IntelliPower 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive @ $80

Total = $676 on Newegg

You can get $20-40 discount/difference on various online websites. which you can use for ur choice of case & peripherals you need.

This config will give enough required performance for your designing & video editing softwares as well as Medium to high settings gaming experience upto 1080p.

Those parts are fine, unless you are going to overclock the CPU, the stock CPU fan is fine to use.

I'd upgrade the video card to a 750Ti if you want to play games on the system, removing the aftermarket CPU fan will get you enough in the same budget to get it. Just listing the year of the game won't help as to picking a video card, FarCry 4 wants a pretty good system to run while many other games you can get by with a slower system.

Hi,
Thanks both for good suggestions..

Final question ... If I go for I5 4460 and get myself Xbox 360... will it viable and better solution than going for above config? I will be happy in both fronts I can use high end applications with I5 and play latest games with high graphics through Xbox 360. I don't have to worry about bottleneck in either games or apps.

Kindly Suggest.

I would not get an XBOX just for games, if you will use it as a media extender/dvd player then it would be better. Otherwise I'd get the i5 and use the money for the XBOX on a video card.
