Pentium g3258 and MSI Z87I gaming AC

I am building a PC for my family and I want to use the pentium anniversary edition because of it's spectacular price/performance ratio. I wanted to know if it is supported by the z871 gaming AC out of the box as I don't want to be upgrading the bios.

Sorry, but there's no way to know if it will be supported out of the box for sure because they don't tell us the exact BIOS version on the board before you buy it and it ships, they don't even keep track of that.

Chances are it'll work. Chances are better on a Z97 board because it's a newer chipset (almost exactly identical, but still newer), so it's more likely to have a newer BIOS.

Some boards like the Z97 anniversary model from ASRock are made specifically for the G3258. They shouldn't have any problem.

It'll work but it wont overclock! I have it and the multiplier won't change from 32!!
