I've never built a PC before and I put together a parts list based on http://elitegamingcomputers.com/good-cheap-gaming-computers/

I don't need a super high-end computer, this is my first foray into PC gaming. Been playing on consoles forever. I just want to get someone else's input as to whether this is a decent build (and if everything will fit together). Here is the list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ZCksBm

It needs improvement and it will cost you 60-70 dollars to perfect it. If you're not able to though, this would be a nice alternative:

That build could use a cheaper case and power supply but good choice on the pentium (one of my personal favorites) and if also go with a gtx 960 if you can but if not just go with a 750 ti if you really don't care that much

That's my build now I realized that the 280 is actually better than the 750ti. If you wanna save $30 then go for the 750 but the 280 is defined let worth the. Extra money

why not the fx 6300?it is a 6core cpu and G3258 is dual core and he can also oc the 6300 to 4.5ghz easy with a nc cooler. and u recommend to change r9 280 for a 750ti? only if u are low on budget bur if u aren t go with the 6300 and 280.future proof

No, not future proof. Exactly the opposite. Performance wise the FX-6300 uses 3 cores, not 6. One more core. The G3258 can be upgraded to an i5/i7. Nothing can be done with the FX-6300. Yes, maybe FX-8320/50 which wouldn't make a significant difference.

Do you understand that the G3258 is a good processor, not a bad one?
