5.1 Audio only plays left and right speakers

I installed Realtek R2.75 audio drivers and connected my 5.1 speakers. The sound tests only plays through the left and right speakers, nothing from the center or rear speakers. While watching a movie, sound play through all speakers but the voice track and surround sound is missing. Its like its playing 2.1 audio through all speakers while receiving 5.1 audio.

I've made sure the speakers are set to 5.1 in both control panel and in Realtek HD Audio Manager. I've reinstalled Realtek, completely removed it, installed audio drivers from motherboard disk (which included realtek). I can't access the Realtek manager outside of the icon tray now. I've disabled the front jack detection in the manager as I've read on some forums but that didn't solve anything. I've plugged in the speakers in the front and back, nothing's changed.

My motherboard is MSI Z87 GD-65 if that helps at all. I'm out of ideas and can't find anything that helps online.

Thanks in advance!

All my speakers connect to the sub woofer/receiver which then connects to my pc via an aux cord to the headphone jack on the back. This worked before in giving me 5.1 audio. The only difference is that yesterday I replaced my hard drive so I know it will work, its just a software issue.

only idea I have is to double check the outputs of the Realtek chip - they can be set/reset to ANY combination. i.e., Front L/R audio can be set to come out of ANY of the jacks on the back of M.B., same for Rear(Surround) L/R, and Center/Sub

Just tried all of them. Same result. Only difference is when plugged in on the rear and center speaker jacks, sound only played through the left speaker during test.
