Hi, I really want a reference GTX 970. Here in the UK there is one from overclockers but I have never heard of the brand before and seems a bit dodgy. Anyway in the U.S. I see you can buy a reference 970 from best buy at $380 which is about £250. I was wondering whether I would have to pay import duty/VAT and whether you think this a good idea?

You are best to maybe contact your own government/post office about import laws. I would guess you will pay some kind of Duty, but I am in Canada so things are not going to be the same.

Have you checked amazon, sometimes they have left over stock (reference cooler cards). Make sure to check the seller since many are out of the country as well.

If this link works, it should show only ones sold by amazon or fulfilled by them. I see some reference coolers in the list. It is not the Titan style cooler.

Edited for spelling.

By reference, do you mean palit GTX 970 or the custom Titan style cooler GTX 970?

If you mean the Titan style cooler, it's reported to be using a GTX 980 PCB.

Judging by the reviews, quality of the card sounds alright but it is more expensive than the non-reference alternatives.
