Hello again! My brother has been using one of my 4GB modules of ram while he waits for his to arrive (Crucial ballistix sport 1x4GB). It arrived yesterday from Newegg.com and his desktop wont POST with the crucial ram but will with my ADATA XPG 4GB. in the BIOS of his motherboard (ASS A78M-E) it shows the crucial ram and adata when both plugged in but when i unplug the adata ram the PC boots but no beeps or display...
is the crucial ram bad? or just somehow not compatable with the motherboard?
any help appreciated!
Thanks.

The 2 sticks are most likely not compatible. Sticks need to be exactly matching. Even with sticks of the same manufacturer and model that are exactly the same, there is no guarantee that they will work together. Your best best is to get a kit. Sticks in kits are tested together to make sure that they work together. Could try upping the DDR voltage some.

What is the timings and speed of each stick? The model numbers?

Thanks for the reply, but for some unknown reason the RAM started working... still clueless as to why
