Frequently, on booting I am experiencing a checksum error, loss of time and date, in the BIOS. This to be followed by a rearrangement of the boot sequence. To complete the start up, a chkdsk /F is also required on one of the storage disks, a specific one (a relatively new one -barely a year old).
I am wondering if I need to Flash the BIOS or replace the disk - or more ... (?)
Specs:
O/S XP Prof. Sp3 :
BIOS American Megatrends Inc. Ver, 080011, Date 04/04/206
MOBO ECS K8T890-A
CPU AMD Athlon 64 x2 (Dual Core)3800+
Disk S.M.A.R.T. Just showed a small "Sector Allocated Count" a couple of days ago.
Thanks for any suggestions
