Hello there!
I am thinking of buying a second monitor in order to improve my work performance (I'm studying programming).
Lets say that at monitor#1 I wanna work(coding/development) while at monitor#2 I wanna watch my messages(skype/facebook) , reading PDFs , watching youtube tutorials and so on.

The thing is that I miss some hardware information.
I have doubts that my total computer's performance will slow down (?) or anything.
I am almost sure that dual monitoring depends 99% on GPU but I wanna be sure in order to avoid any mistake.

Using monitor: LG Flatron E2242 21,5'' /1920x1080/ Full HD / LED , 16.5m colors
I will probably buy another LG monitor in the EXACTLY same specs because I can't find the same in my country or ebay/amazon/newegg

Please tell me if I am okay to add one more "same" monitor without losing any performace or something! Thanks in advance :)

My computer specs are:

Tower: CoolerMaste HAF 932
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Mobo: Asus P7P55D
CPU: Intel Core i5 750 2,6Ghz(Overclocked @3,3Ghz)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 Gigabyte Windforce 2GB 3X OC GDDR5
PSU: XFX ProSeries 850w Bronze
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 1x4GB 1666Mhz DDR3
HDD: 1TB SataII 7200rpm
SSD: Samsung 840 Evo 120GB
Cooler: CoolerMaster Hyper 412S 1300rpm

Solution

Oh du, sorry i forgot to answer that.

The only time your going to get some performance loss is if your doing some extreme gaming. But that's it, that's pretty much the only time your displays will slow down.

I am not going to extreme gaming (like i do sometimes on battlefield4 ultra graphs for example) on dual monitor. Only single as I used to do.
so I am ready to buy my new monitor :D Thanks mate ! :)

Well even if your only playing BF4 on one monitor and have the 2nd monitor just showing even a wall paper you can expect a slight decrease in FPS. But you can just disable that 2nd monitor anyways while gaming.

Yeah go for it! Good luck with your new monitor. :)
