Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a new desktop that can run World of Warcraft on ultra settings easily...thats the only game ill be playing on the desktop. I'd perfer a prebuilt comp, because I dont know how to build a computer, and dont know much about graphic cards, motherboards, etc. Really just want something that is reliable and affordable that will FOR SURE run WoW on ultra settings smoothly (25 man raids, AV, etc) can you post a link to a computer, or any suggestions would help, and my budget is around 500-700. Thanks!

For a pre-built you need to go to the top of your price range, but you will have issues in large groups at ultra with a bit of slowdowns even then. 5-10 man dungeons are OK, larger 25 raids, will bog down unless you drop the detail.

This may be OK, although the video card is lower than you would be able to buy for the same price in a system you build yourself http://www.walmart.com/ip/CyberPowerPC-Black-Gamer-Xtreme-GXi660-Desktop-PC-with-Intel-Core-i5-4460-Quad-Core-Processor-8GB-Memory-1TB-Hard-Drive-and-Windows-8.1-Monitor-Not/37421262?action=product_interest&action_type=title&placement_id=irs-106-m1&strategy=SMT&visitor_id=PVBWDqLhT9zgOuwf-QkN14&category=&client_guid=4d5e2319-ecff-4d89-827b-6ebac330a072&customer_id_enc=&config_id=106&parent_item_id=31342476&parent_anchor_item_id=31342476&guid=e4377cd4-eddd-4698-8786-3234d23ec314&bucket_id=irsbucketdefault&beacon_version=1.0.1&findingMethod=p13n

At least the CPU is good and there is plenty of RAM and the video card is not as bad as in many other cheap "gaming" systems you can find in a store.

To get to the performance of a home built system you need to spend about $200 more for a store built one since you can't pick every part to maximize gaming speed.

A 250X is plenty to max out WOW and play any game out there, just on lower settings. I played WOW on a 9800 GT on High settings, the 250X is much faster than that and for a pre-built system in the price range that's about the top card you can find.

Best performance would be a home built system, but the R7 250X is not a bad card to get on a budget. Latest gaming cards are fast even at the low end.

It will run all of those, just not on High settings, and at under 60 frames, but even 30 is enough to play on. Keep in mind this question is only about WOW and in a certain budget also. If it's limited to a pre-built system, the 250X is probably the best card those systems for under $700 would come with.

Some benchmarks here, even though some were on Low, they still looked good if you look at the screenshots http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-r7-250x-graphics-card-review,3747-3.html
