Since the past month, for some strange reason, my PC started to lock up and freeze randomly. KB and Mouse would freeze, sound stutters then cuts out and that requires me to force restart. Be it playing a game, just on Twitch, or browsing reddit. My PC and GPU temps are always either within normal parameters or below average temps with my GPU on idle around 30c and when I'm browsing the web with Twitch on around 37-40c. My CPU is constantly at an average of low 20s to 30s. Sometimes it would freeze the next day or 2 days later or even 3 days later.

I recently discovered that when I tapped my RAM, my PC would lock up and my HDD would stop working. However, my PSU, GPU and CPU are still running with their fans on. Even after switch my RAM sticks to another channel on my motherboard, it seemed fine until I tried booting up SpeedFan and my PC froze on me with black/grey screens. What's going on? Please help!

Specs:
i5 3570 3.4 GHz
EVGA nVidia GTX 660 TI (Drivers recently updated to 347.52 from 347.09) Last PC lockup was on 347.09 drivers
2x 4GB Corsair XMS3 1600 DDR3 RAM
700w PSU
1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD
Windows 7 x64

EDIT: I also switched my power options from High Performance to Balanced.

I had the same problem and for me it turned out to be that the hard drive on which my OS was installed was faulty. It eventually crashed and I was unable to recover anything from it. I reinstalled Windows on a new HDD and it has stopped freezing completely. Try to test your Hard drives to see if any of them are failing!
