I got a amd/ati mobility radeon HD 4250 graphics card that was advertised to use 512mb max. It only uses 320mb. I noticed that if I take out one RAM card it goes up to 384mb But when I put it back in it reverts back to using 320. Is there a way to get it to use 512mb?

By the way this is all dedicated ram mentioned. My shared graphics memory goes from 1gb total to 3gb when I put all 6gb of ram into the computer.

The HD 4250 does not have any of its own memory. Ram it uses is only "dedicated" in the sense that it is not available for the rest of the system to use. It is still on the same chips and running at the same speed as the "shared memory."

While you may be able to adjust the amount of reserved memory in the BIOS, increasing it will be very unlikely to improve your performance. The chip just isn't powerful enough to make use of large amounts of memory and the shared memory will run just as fast.
