Currently I have a BELKIN F5D8236-4 N Wireless Router (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA0AJ0U17013). We bought this back in 2009, since we got an Ipod touch back then (just for that one device lol) and its our first router. I knew very little about wireless routers and we didn't care about the brand or quality (we got this in wal mart haha). Nowadays it's just unstable and disconnects randomly or whenever it's stressed.

We only have a 1 story home, and its not that big.
These are the devices that use/or plugged into the router:

PS3 - connected through ethernet
1 Desktop PC - ethernet
Vonage VOIP - ethernet
Motorola SB6121 Modem

Nintendo Wii - occasionally on wifi
Nintendo 3DS - occasionally on wifi
3 Laptops - always/most of the time on wifi
5 smartphones (3 iphones and 2 samsung galaxy's) - always on wifi

We typically use the internet for normal stuff such as streaming netflix, browsing, downloading, online gaming (mostly League of Legends on the laptops and the desktop or some games on the consoles), and for using Vonage VoIP.

These are the routers that I'm currently interested in:

TP-Link Archer C8 (preferred due to better specs)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833704220&cm_re=tp_link_c8-_-33-704-220-_-Product

TP-Link Archer C7 (cheaper)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BUSDVBQ/ref=s9_simh_gw_p147_d1_i5?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=desktop-2&pf_rd_r=02E7JESM0FQFHT0MK5SZ&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=1970566542&pf_rd_i=desktop

Can you all please give me some suggestions like if its good for the price or something like that.
But what I'm looking for is mainly wireless AC and "STABLE" connections.

Thanks,

Your internet speed is totally based on the speeds you get from your internet provider. The gigabit ports on these routers just mean that your local network speeds could be faster... only useful for streaming between your devices or file copying.

If your provider gives you say 50Mbps download, the max you'll see is 50... or maybe a bit more on a good day.

use www.speedtest.net to check your overall internet speeds. You'll probably see close to what your provider promised on a wired connection. Wireless connections can be less if you are not getting at least the providers speed for the local network connection.

Either one of your choices will work for what you need. Remember, wireless AC is only good if you have devices that can use it :)

The C8 does have a USB 3.0 port if you want to attach storage to it, but otherwise they are practically the same for what you need.

So, it's totally up to you.

Yeah overall I'm just looking for stability, I don't really care about some fancy features that I will probably never use. And yes two of my laptops (2014 hp probooks) have wireless AC and we will soon probably upgrade our smartphones. And also one more thing can gigabit ethernet speed up the internet speed of my desktop?
