Hi all, first time posting in these forums but have used them quite frequently when I have problems with my build. My computer has been working flawlessly for over a year now, but suddenly last night I go to turn off my computer and windows (7) shuts down but my case fans, LEDs, and Power Supply remains on. So I did what I normally do and scour the internet forums and threads to find a solution, only to find none. People said to check BIOS for power management options, I checked windows power options, all is good there. So I decided to eliminate everything, I unplugged everything from my Power Supply, plug it in and hit the switch, the Power Supply comes on, WITHOUT being connected to motherboard at all. Weird? At this point I believe the problem is the Power Supply, I mean it HAS to be, there is nothing connected to it at all. I just wanted to come here and get some reassurance from everyone so I can pull the trigger on buying a new Power Supply. OR if anyone has any thoughts on how this could happen and if it can be repaired, I would like to know that as well. Thank you

-Alex

My power supply is a Rosewill RP550V2-D-SL-S 550W, bought back in 2007. I got 8 solid years of extreme gaming on it, I think I got my moneys worth out of it.
