Asus m5a99x evo r2.0 and RAM

I am trying to build my first desktop system and have recently purchased an aus m5a99x evo r2.0 and corsair 2 x 8gb memory sticks 1600MHz CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10. From what I've read the sitcks should fit but they don't seem to and i don't want to force it and break something. Is there something I am not understanding? Thanks for the help!

Watch some videos. You have to apply light pressure and they should click right in. Make sure the notches on the RAM are lining up. to the notches on the motherboard.
