Hi, I am planning to visit the US in a few weeks and usually I tend to buy electronics (whether I need them badly or not :) ) because they are easily bought online, cheaper then my place, and I can find usually used, refurbished or other types of deals.

I was planning to build an HTPC Gaming ATX (or micro ATX) case for a living room so that my 8 years old child can play some games ( he wont understand 1080p or 720p or fps) much.

My TV is 1080p. I had a GTX 560Ti that I got for USD 45 lately and it seemed like a good deal. I was planning to put that in it. alongside an i3 2100 that I had lying around, an SSD, and a one stick of 4GB Gskill ram.

I am stumbling around many used graphics cards (or new) for what it seems good prices (but you can know better):
Example:
- R9 290x for USD 260 Used.
- GTX 690 for around USD 400 used (but dont prefer dual GPU
- 7990 for around 360

Should I make use of these deals (or are they normal).. and is it better to save the money and let my child play around with that 560ti for now at 1080p or 720p)?

I would say stick with the 560 ti as it can handle most games fairly well at 720p and at lower detail at 1080p. He wont exactly be playing crysis 3 so I would say don't spend anymore then you have to.

Very true. I just was enthusiastic regarding the USD 260 for a radeon 290x, although might not use it. I have another computer with a GTX 660, little better then the 560Ti, I assume that it will play at 1080p at fairly good settings but that is connected to a 1080 projector rather then the TV where it is usually more convenient to play.

note: the 290x that I have seen is not the special version just reference sapphire one.
