Running 2 x 1600mhz and 2 x 1333mhz

my motherboard supports 4 ram sticks, i currently have 2 x 4gb corsair 1600mhz ram in 2 slots.

i want to buy 2 x 2gb sticks 1333mhz ram.

will the 1600mhz ram be downclocked to 1333mhz? or will the 2 pairs run independently on dual channel?

It will run at 1333mhz but remember to check the ram timings are the same in the new ram as your current ram. I did that mistake a while back (2 different rams with 2 different timings). System wasn't stable and I had to readjust the timings in bios after removing old ram.
