I want to add a HDD to an old Dell T3500. It has SATA HDD interface (3. 0 GB/s). New drives now have SATA 6.0 GB/s. Are the new drives backward compatible? (I assume yes, but want to avoid surprises.)
Second question: I currently have a WB Black Caviar drive (WD1001FAES 1TB). It's worked great and want something similar. I know WD Black is their "top of the line" in reliability. I've found used WB RE4 "Enterprise" HDD (yellow). How do these compare to WD Black? I figure an "Enterprise" is also top of the line, but want to confirm. Thanks in advance.
