I'm trying to install a dual-boot Windows7/Linux machine with two 2TB drives combined into a RAID1 configuration via the BIOS-based RAID1 from my H97 motherboard.

The problem is that the Linux install software gets confused when it sees the RAID1 drive, and seems to show me the RAID1 volume, but also the two underlying disks in the RAID1 volume.

Needless to say, this concerns me that Linux (in this case, both Ubuntu and Mint) may not realize that the two drives should never be accessed individually as this would destroy the RAID array.

Does anybody know how to get Linux to properly see the volume as a RAID1 array and hide the two component disks?

For the time being, it's perfectly OK if I mess up the volume because there's no data installed on them yet. I have the freedom to play around with different configurations and see what works.
