[HELP NEEDED] Windows 8 - startup black screen with cursor, no ctr+alt+del

Hi
I have an ASUS laptop with windows 8. When I start it up, it only shows a black screen with a movable cursor - there is no login nor windows screen

I shut it down after using it normally (it wasn't during an udate) and 30 minutes later when I turn it on, the problem occurs

My problem is also that ctrl + alt + del does not work, and neither do any of the F-keys

Please, somebody help me. I am getting extremely frustrated

Also, please use understandable language for dummies when answering because I am not an expert with computers

Try this below methods ;

Method 1: Perform Automatic repair using a recovery disc.

a. Boot into the Windows 8 disc.
Once selecting your language, time and keyboard settings, click Next to load the next window, then click on the Repair your computer link on the bottom left corner of the window.
You should then be presented with a Choose an Option screen, with Troubleshoot as an option to select.
In the Troubleshoot screen, select advanced options.
Select Automatic Repair from the advanced options screen and then select the target operating system to repair, which would be Windows 8 in this case.

Method 2: If automatic repair doesn’t work please perform system restore, please restore the computer to the date when the computer was working fine using a disc.
a. Boot into the Windows 8 disc.
b. Refer to the section Method 3 under Windows 8 in the following link.

Method 3: Please check if the hard disk is detected in Basic Input/Output System (BIOS).

Please contact the computer manufacturer for BIOS settings.

Note:

Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.

If all the above steps fail you may also contact computer manufacturer.

Helle, I barely understand any of that since I am, as stated above, very bad when it comes to computers. The thing is, that I am unable to do anything! There's no loading screen, no windows screen, no login screen, keyboard commands do not respond etc. All I can do is watch a black screen with a cursor.
