Ok, so I have the Asus G20 compact gaming desktop. On Sundays is my lazy / gaming day, lol. When I play my game for extended amounts of time (like 4 hours) my PC restarts. This was clearly from over heating on my GPU, so I downloaded EVGA v16 to manage my GPU fan and temps better. This has helped quite a bit as I keep the fan up at 100% and make GPU temp priority. I also lowered the graphics in my game down a few grades to reduce stress on my GPU.

What I am here asking for is an external method of cooling my compact sized desktop? The system is great, and runs great. When I play Elder Scrolls Online for several hours, it overheats. Since I made the modifications it does not often much anymore, but I would love some type of external method of added cooling to help maintain the system at lower temps. I have considered something like a laptop cooling pad and a USB external 120mm fan for exhaust.

All suggestions on external cooling is very much appreciated.

Theres quite a few different pads out there and they all vary in size/shape so it may be difficult to make a recomendation. Since its a smaller case your best bet might to be bring the tower into your local electronics store (ie:best buy) and see if the have any laptop cooling pads on display that you can try that desktop on. Targus makes a few of them which look decent:

Find one that is completely flat so that you dont need to worry about your desktop falling over.

Excellent answers for you all!

So far I figure I can put a laptop cooling base under it and put an external 120mm fan to help funnel GPU exhaust out. Since I believe air intake is on the bottom, I can put a small laptop fan base under it, and put an external 120mm fan to push exhaust out better at the GPU.

Since this is a desktop, can anyone recommend a cooling pad? Or perhaps a strip of cooling fan that can slide under the case nice and easily? I have a small compact gaming system, again, its the Asus G20 gaming rig. It works wonders, and was great value for the rig but it is just lacking in ventilation. Can anyone suggest a good cooling pad for this system to sit on (flat surface) so I can get more fresh air in the system?
