So I recently built a new PC (Build below) and a few days after starting it up I started getting this malfunction every once in a while. It is very inconsistent- sometimes not showing up for close to a week- and once it happened twice in a row (about 3 minutes after I restarted pc from first time). About once every 3 times I get on my PC on average probably.

The problem itself is that the screen will, seemingly at random, turn completely gray permanently (until I manually power down). I'm not sure it matters but the screen isn't always the same- sometimes it's a lighter or darker gray, and sometimes it has lighter/darker stripes about 1cm thick all the way across the screen. Sometimes the audio continues, but usually it is cut off when the screen grays out.

My build-
Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z
CPU: AMD FX- 9590 8Core
GPU: MSI R9 270X GAMING 2G
PSU: CORSAIR TX-750 (CP-9020042-NA)
RAM: 8GB G.SKILL (F3-2400C9D-8GTXD)
HDD: -SAMSUNG 850EVO (250GB)
-WD10EZEX (1TB)

Any thoughts on what's going on/ how to solve it? Thank you in advance!

Thanks for the suggestion, I hadn't actually thought of that (though I don't believe my MB has on board so I'll have to find another GPU to attempt this method).
