Heya all,
Any help would be great.
So i have been given a friends old Desktop and i am looking for the best Graphics card to run on this with a budget of around £100.
Now i am not to savvy with computers so ill do my best listing specs.

Processor - Intel 2 quad Q660
PSU - I think has been given a massive 750 watt upgrade.
Monitor - LG W1943.

Ok i am not sure if you need anymore info, but please say so and ill try my best to find it.
Any help is muchly appreciated. I have checked other posts on this site and ppl saying GTX 750 was prob best, im just wondering if that still the case with my budget?

that is a pretty cheap psu but for the system it'll be ok. a 750ti is very low power and won't even come close to taxing the psu. i'd let the psu die with that system and replace it with any system upgrade beyond this gpu.

but it'll work for now fine. most of the 750ti models part picker listed were around the 100 pound mark you asked about. grab any one of those models if the msi one is not to your liking and you'll be set.

before installing the card, uninstall the old drivers and all software with it such as control panels and such. then once the new card is in and booted up, install the stuff from the disk that will come with the card anf you'll be good to go. feel free to ask any other questions you may have as the process moves...

best i am seeing right now is a 750ti which will easily run in that system

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Video Card (£99.98 @ Novatech)
Total: £99.98
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

this will max the settings at that monitors resolution easy and will for a couple years. the monitor is 1366 x 768. plus it is very low power so even if the psu is low quality, 750w will easily run it. but do check what the psu in it is. open the case, look at the label and post the model number of it so i can be sure what exactly you are working with.

Thanks sooo much for your quick response,
So i was kinda wrong on the PSU being 750w (haha did say i wasn't to savvy)
PSU Model Number - Pentium p4 Model: E- 700 BR.

And yes i believe is more than likely a low quality one.
And once again, Thanks for any help.

the msi card above is a good one but of course there are plenty of other models, who knows what you might find on a sale or open box item.

Thanks alot for the help here Math..you have been very helpful.
After searching ebay for 750ti ive found one at a reasonable price that ill probably be looking at getting, just one more quick question, after a little searching i have come across a sapphire R9 270 which seems to have a higher benchmark and stretches my budget abit, would this be ok to run on my specs? If not ill probably carry out a purchase on the 750ti.

Thanks again for your helpfulness at helping a troubled gamer, that has a very small knowledge of things^^

an r9-270 will be a bit stronger than a 750ti. i actually have one paired with a q6600 myself and it runs very well together. i have them running in an old dell pc with the stock 375w psu. so you would have no trouble with this card as well.

benchmarks have shown that the 750ti with a super overclock will almost keep up with a reference 270 so it is a nice little step forward if the price is right and worth it if you can swing it.
