Hi. So far, I have been gaming with alredy pre-builded pc, which died 2 years ago, and now im using a HP laptop, but as the time passes by, the laptop is not enough for "new gen" games, even for old games like Arma or some mmos I often play. So I decidet to build myself a new pc, but I have a little knowledge about components, or how everything works together. So I was browsing an electronics shop with PC components in my country/city, and tried to build a decent gaming pc, with the little knowledge/info I gathered on internet, but Im not sure if it will work, and thats why I want to ask here about advice on this build.

Here is what I gathered :

CPU = Intel Core i5-4690K - 257,52€
GRAPHICS CARD = MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G - 374.09€
MOTHER BOARD = GIGABYTE Z97X-Gaming 3 - 120,07€
RAM = Kingston 8GB KIT DDR3 2400MHz CL11 HyperX Beast Series - 74,15€
HARD DRIVE = WD Red 2000GB 64MB cache - 105,94€
SSD = Samsung 850 EVO 250GB - 126,82€
POWER SUPLY = Corsair VS650 - 56,48€
CPU FAN = Cooler Master Hyper 103 - 21,16€
CD/DVD = ASUS DRW-24F1ST čierna - 14,10€
CASE = Zalman Z11 - 49,42€

TOTAL = 1199,75€

(I alredy have 1680x1050 monitor, keyboard and mouse )

Im not sure if this build will work, If I have to change something. Im willing to spend max 1300€ on this gaming pc. Im from Slovakia, if this info help somehow. Also I would like to make the pc so I can upgrade it if needed, or every 2-3 years

Thanks in advance for answers and also sorry for my English

Your build looks fine, but I have a few recommendations. The NZXT S340 is one of the best cheaper cases in the market. Also, try to either get a Noctua NH D14/D15 or a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, they are both great air coolers. Lastly, do you already have an OS? Other than that, I think you're set!

Thank you very much. I have changed the CPU Cooler to 212 EVO. The case Im not sure about yet, the S340 looks nice, but I still have to consider it. Also this build might change overtime as I plan on buying components in summer. And one last question. How is the upgradeability with this build? Will I be able to easily upgrade every 2-3 years for better stuff like ram, graphics etc...? ( I have a bad experience with upgrading my old pc, which is now dead )

If Intel only supports DDR4 in future motherboards, you'll need to buy a new motherboard if you want to upgrade your ram. But other than that, upgrading on that computer will be fine for the next few years. Oh lastly, a 750-850w psu will last you longer than a 650w psu.

As long as DDR3 stays mainstream, ram upgrading will b

Oh nice. Thank you very much for the answers, they helped me a lot. Ill be watching my local stores for pc comptonents the next 3-4 months about price changes. I also found a pre-builded pc by one of the local store, which has the same GPU and CPU, 600w power suply , 8GB RAM, 8GB SSD and H97 M-E motherboard for like 999€. But as I said, Ill be watching the prices over time and decide if ill go with the pre-builded pc or build one myself.

Thanks again for the answers. Cheers
