Hi,

My PC is being very loud recently, because the CPU Fan spins very rapidly. It's an AMD FX 8350 with default cooler. When I remove the window plate on my case, the fan slows down. CPU temperature is 38 degrees celsius when it's loud, it doesn't seem to decrease really when I remove the window plate, just the fan stops spinning so loud.

The PC is like 3 years old, maybe I need to clean it completely? Do I have to ever renew thermal paste?

Case is CM Storm enforcer.

I appreciate any help, thanks.

AnkouHasComeForYourSoul has it right, my son has that same case. You have room to spare. We use the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Direct Heat Pipe CPU Cooler R2. It is huge but quiet and it idles around 30c, highest it has run while playing games is 38c. The front fan on that case was a pain point for us as after 6months the stock fan developed a tick. Other than that it is an awesome case. As a general rule larger fans have a higher airflow at lower rpms = less overall noise.

That said, running the default cooling solution on an Eight core CPU is going to make that thing sing no matter what you do. That EVO is around $39 Canadian on Newegg. 03/24/2015

I would renew the paste if it has been that long.

FX stock coolers are very loud . look into an aftermarket cooler 212 EVO.

It is a solid investment that will carry over should you change chipsets. (A bracket change.)
