I have a Logitech K410 keyboard + trackpad combo. It got great reviews and only cost 20 bucks so i thought it would be perfect.
Unfortunately, the keyboard loses connection with the usb dongle every now and then and is quite frustrating. What is even more annoying is that there are a lot of complaints about this problem despite all the great reviews i had seen.
Anyways, i figure there is some kind of interference going on,so i decided to switch the usb port for the dongle. I have 4 usb 3.0 ports on the back of my htpc(running Windows 8.1) and 4 usb 2.0 ports with another 2 usb 3.0 ports on the front.
I initially had the usb dongle plugged into a usb 2.0 port in the back, figuring there is no need for 3.0 for a keyboard and mouse. Since there was a problem with this, i moved the usb to a front usb 3.0. The problem persisted. I then moved it to a 3.0 in the back. Right now it seems to have worked, I'll have to do more testing (basically just using it to see if it'll lose signal).
Does it make sense that switching usb ports would fix the problem? I only have one other device connected by usb, a Bluetooth dongle. I have heard that there could be interference issues, but in my new setup, both doodles are closer than they were before and it seems to work better (still unproven)
