Monitor is 27 inch 2560x1440. I am doing photo editing hence wanting the i7 to be honest. Sorry I should have specified. Will go take a look at those alternative PSU's cheers.

-Add £80 if you're sticking with the i7
- Changed the CLC to an air cooler, very similar performance for half the price
-16gb ram not strictly necessary, you could drop to 8gb if you wanted
- Changed the seagate 2tb to a WD black (much more reliable)
- Phanteks sexay case
- Better PSU, cheaper too

The gtx 970 is fine for 1440p, and 16gb ram and an i7 is fine if you're doing editing too :)

tried to fit in sli 970's for your 1440p monitor but went over 1500, decided to upgrade to 980 and change some parts to fit the build

I gotta say of all the changes in my build, the only one I really care about is the power supply. If you kept your entire build and just swapped out that mediocre Corsair RM850 I'd be a happy man :)

Oh, and the hard drive, buying a 2tb seagate is basically like gambling
