I have a MSI Z97 G45 MOBO with i7 4790k, TridentX 2400 and GTX 970 graphics card.

I set the XMP to "Profile 1" to achieve 2400 mhz but it says "1.65 volts" is this safe with my setup?

Everything else is set to stock. I have not overclocked the CPU or GPU.

The highest speed one can do at 1.50v is 1866.
Faster speeds come from ram overclocks, and the tridentx is designed to run at 1.65 which is the maximum safe voltage.

One issue you may find is that 1,65v may reduce the voltage available to vcore available for overclocking.

I somewhat regret buying my tridentx 2400 ram.
I needed to remove one of the gorgeous heat spreaders to fit my cooler.
Buying again, I would opt for the ares 1866 series.
