Asus Maximus V Gene - Audio Lag Spikes

Hi TH Members

I have experienced that some time the audio just take a pause/lag for up to 2 seconds. I wonder what the cause can be? - Driver? Broken audio port?

Updating the driver? - The driver is Realtek HD Audio, right? - If so, I can't update it, so I tried to download it, but I wasn't able to overrun - Can you help me?

What OS? You should be able to install it if it is the correct one.

You have tried this newest http://www.asus.com/ROG_ROG/MAXIMUS_V_GENE/HelpDesk_Download/
Save on your computer and then use device manager update when you specify location.

Another thing it can be is if you have a sound device on your GPU it can be conflicting and needs to be disabled.

Well I got no sound lag at the moment, but now they seem gone O_O - I wonder. Can a Program do it? - like a game interrupting the sound?

Yes that can happen, especially if it is trying to use soundchip on the GPU
