My PC is incredibly slow, operations such a loading control panel sometimes take 10 minutes or longer. Often i cannot even open task manager (ctrl shift esc)because the system just freezes and the only way to get it working again is the power button.
I bought the PC without an OS, my friend told me i could use my acer aspire laptop recovery discs to install one and it would work perfect. Now infortuantly my PC thinks its an Acer laptop(which i think ks why it hardly works)

Solution
Your friend misinformed you - you cannot use the recovery discs belonging to an entirely different computer, no wonder it runs likes a lame dog.

Since you bought the PC without an OS you need to buy a Windows installation disc for it, complete with licence and product key.

You should reformat the drive and install an OS again. (not the laptop recovery OS) It could be that a driver is maybe similar to something on your system but is actually incorrect, and causing your system to not function correctly.
