upgrade windows 8 to 8.1 by itself

So this morning when I logged in to my computer the windows update/install itself to win 8.1 without my permission and I can't cancel it, does this normal? Do I have to enter the product key again? I also notice that there was no more windows WEI in win 8.1.

Actually you give it permission to update when you were installing window 8 before.
Window 8.1 is better than 8 and support for 8 is being dropped.
WEI is outdated and inaccurate. I wouldn't worry about it. There is a third party application which is similar to Window WEI.
You do not need to re enter your product key.
