My business is in need of a new wifi router. We've had the same Netgear N300 Wireless Router WNR2000 v3 for 6 or 7 years, and it just isn't cutting it anymore. On any given day we have at least 5 laptops connected and a multitude of smart phones- probably 45 I'd say. We have an 11,000 SQ FT. space that needs a really strong router to reach all the nooks and crannies. I'm not sure what to look for or where to start, but we need something new ASAP.

Any suggestions or advice?

For 10,000+ sq ft you should have multiple access points. Look at the UniFi line by Ubiquiti. Set up guest SSIDs for non-critical (phones) etc. MAC filter and use IP reservations for your core business assets (laptops etc). IP reservations and MAC filtering will help prevent spoofing.

Thank you for that suggestion, I've been looking into it. Even though I already have a router- its pretty old though- should I get the UniFi Router with Gigabite Ethernet, as well as the APs? I'm not tech savvy at all, so I'm not sure exactly what all their options do or would be best for what I'm looking for.

You could use your existing router, just disable the WIFI. Getting a business quality router, might give you more insight or control over your network. The great thing about getting the Ubiquiti router is that it can work as the controller for the access points for configuration, etc.
