So almost have all the parts for my first build and I reliezed I can't update my mobo bios with the cpu I want.
So my question(s) is(/are), do I need to buy a cheap cpu that will work with the mobo just to update the bios, and if so do I need to install windows before the bios update?
Are there any settings I need to change before or after I switch the CPUs?
Edit: mobo is msi z87 xpower, the cpu I want is the i7 4790k.
Im thinking of using a Intel celeron g1820 to update the bios if I need to. But I would prefer to save 50 bucks if possible.
