Hello good people of Tom's Hardware :)

My issue is that I don't have an XMP profile option in my ASUS UEFI BIOS under the Ai Tweaker tab in Advanced mode :( Any of you more experienced people know what could be going on?

I know for sure it should be working because I have this setup and from what I've read it should be totally possible.

Intel Core i5 3570K
2 x Kingston HyperX Genesis Blu 16GB DDR3 1600 CL9
and ASUS P8Z77-V PRO/THUNDERBOLT

Thanks for your attention and time!

Edit: I have recently come across this tech spec of the memory sticks I own and it looks like there's no mention of XMP :|

Hi!
I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support and would like to offer our assistance. The HyperX Genesis memory you have does not have an XMP setting. Per the documentation is it programmed "to JEDEC standard latency DDR3-1333 timing of 9-9-9 at 1.5V". It is advertised at DDR3-1600 since it is capable of being overclocked to that speed at the 9-9-9 timings. So all that should need to be changed is the frequency to 1600MHz and the memory should run at that speed since your motherboard and CPU support it.

Just checked BIOS and the clock is at 1333Mhz. Frequency in CPU-Z is 668.7Mhz. All seems fine to me and the XMP should be working, right?

Here's my options when I click on Ai Overclock Tuner from the Ai Tweaker tab. There's just Auto and Manual. On the right side it explains that there should be an XMP option. Sorry for the poop quality of the pic but I just have my tablet now, my phone's dead.

According to the manual, you are supposed to have an X.M.P. option. A work around is to set the "Memory Frequency" to 1600 MHz, then adjust (if necessary) the timings based on the XMP settings that CPUZ should show you.

Thanks guys, I'll look into this tomorrow :) So, basically I should just touch the frequency setting and that's it. Step 2 is checking CPU-Z, but where will the info about the XMP be? Here's a screenshot of my CPU-Z Memory window and there's nothing related to XMP :/ Neither is there anything in the SPD tab...

Well, thanks a lot for trying to help anyway :) It makes totally no sense for me either :(

The model of RAM I was mentioning might not be the one I own. I updated the original post with a link to the specs.

Thank you for using HyperX memory!

Jewel, your intervention is greatly appreciated :D You've given me very good news! I will try applying what you've said tomorrow. You're an excellent Tech Support agent! I was never expecting such ninja customer service xD

Hi,
Still wondering, since RAMs are advertised as 1600 MHz, how come there's no 1600 profile listed in the SPD?
Thank you.

The memory is programmed at the JEDEC standard 1333, so that is what is listed in the SPD plus lower ratings it can downclock to if needed. Since it does not have a XMP profile to overclock to the 1600 speed, the 1600 is not programmed into the SPD.
