My 2006 15inch Macbook Pro currently has a SSD and I think it kicked the bucket cause no matter what install usb I try it the installation fails. Am I able to just slip in a HDD and use that instead? or do I have to use a SSD.

It used to say something along the lines of necessary installation files could not be copied. Not too sure. trying again soon will update when I know for sure. Could this mean its fried? I have tried at least 4 different install usbs two being tiger two being snow leopard
