Hey everyone,
I just ordered a Audio Technica ATHADG1 Open-Back Gaming Headset in hopes of increasing my comfort and sound quality throughout long gaming sessions (8+ hours sometimes).
I know little to nothing about sound cards, what exactly the DAC included in this headset will do and such. At first I thought the DAC acted as a sound driver and would allow me to bypass my onboard audio (which I would assume is poor quality). But that seems to not be the case.
That being said, I was wondering if I should get a sound card and if so what sound card should I get. I would really prefer to stay under $75 for the sound card unless an extra 25 bucks would lead to a large jump in performance.
This is the motherboard I am currently using: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131837
If you need any other details to aid me in this, let me know and I will be more than happy to provide whatever information I can. Thank you for any and all help provided.
