Hey what's up guys, currently I have Windows 8.1 that my friend put into my comp when he sold it to me. It's currently going to expire and I purchased a new windows 8.1 key. I tried using this key onto my computer to renew it per say but it says they're different versions. Long story short, is it possible to delete the windows 8.1 on my SSD and re download it onto it without deleting or having to back up my 1 TB data? I'd rather not have to download everything again... Thank you very much!

First you insert the CD, then restart your PC, and then you'll start the installation process...when asked to sellect partition where you would like to install OS, sellect one where you have previous OS (Local Disc C
and so on. But once again, if your OS is installed on that SSD, and that SSD is one partition, you can reinstall without loosing any data...

If your SSD is one partition where the system is instaled, yes, you can reinstall it without loosing any data.
