This might be a dumb question, but can a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet splitter transfer 120mbps? The site where I found the splitter says transferspeed 100mbps, but is this the absolute limit or is it just a category that includes every speed from 10 to whichever is the next category (1000mbps?)? I need to know since my internet speed is currently around 120mps, and I don't want to lose the 20mps for using a splitter.

Solution
The word you're looking for is switch. And no, it will not pass 120Mbps over a 10/100 switch.

If you haven't bought it yet, a 10/100/1000 switch is pretty much the same price.

I meant switch indeed. Thanks, I'll buy a 10/100/1000 instead
