I have an HP H8-1214 http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03154290 it has 300 watts power supply, I want to upgrade video card from the 7450 to a more decent card but I'm told left and right that I can't have a fancy card without some good power. Will this low end power supply be compatible with my computer http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA6UM2N99038 ? I want faster specs for gaming without having to spend a lot of money, can't stress enough how bad I'm on a budget, also I would like to upgrade from the 7450 to something with a little(or a lot) less tear, but I'm on a serious budget, I think my motherboard doesn't take 3.0 cards, also.

Also, would like to get some pc3 12800 4x4 but don't at a cheap price, anyone know any good sites?

I think that one is a little more than I want to spend, though. Are you saying that I can just pop in a better video card plug and play? and the 750TI is what I should go with? I am not going to get a power supply unless I have to, but, I heard that if I am going to be overclocking my card(which I am) it's pointless buying a better card unless I have more power.

The stock PSU will work for the stock GTX 750 Ti. This is the fastest one that requires no 6 pin power connection: http://www.pny.com/GTX_750_Ti_2048MB_OC_PCIe?sku=VCGGTX750T2XPB-OC
But If you plan on OC'ing the card, then you will need a better PSU. But you are not going to get a PSU cheaper than the one I linked to above that is safe and dependable. The only one slightly cheaper that I would dare recommend is this one: http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-80PLUS-Certified-ATX12V-100-W1-0500-KR/dp/B00H33SFJU
Johnny Guru gives it a passing grade: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=384

The VRAM capacity makes little to no difference in speed. That simply determines the depth of textures, Anti-Aliasing levels, AF, DoF, etc. The clock speed determines the frame rates.

That PSU may be OK for light duty. it is rated in the 4th tier. The "Not Recommend for stressful situations" tier:

Does my motherboard support pci-e express 3.0? edit: after some searching i found out that it does, and that card is a great card for my machine I looked at about 20-30 other cards in the same performance range and none of them were compatible with my system so I went ahead and bought one. Thanks cluthc

No, version 2.0. But it doesn't matter. There's is no single GPU gfx card I know of that can saturate even the PCIe bus at 16 lanes @ 2.0 speeds. There are some PCIe x16 SSDs that can make good use of 3.0 at 16 lanes though.

Just an update. Went ahead and got the 750 ti FTW on sale from newegg, the motherboard I had from HP wasn't uefi bios ready so i picked up a refurb asus motherboard for about 52 dollars to mount it, after this I was told that I would need a new heatsink to make sure that I wasn't overheating from my tech friend so I picked up a thermaltake 120mm heatsink/cpu fan and it ran pretty cool, to top it off I bought 2x8gb g.skill sniper 1866, I wasn't intending on spending this much but decided that I needed to make sure everything ran smoothly, also found a super cheap powersupply pushing 475 watts so i grabbed that, now I don't know if I should have taken the gfx card I did, but i'm overclocking 4ghz on my cpu so I'm happy.

It gets 78% efficiency, I know that's not quite as good as the bronze 80 plus types and so forth, but it's only a few percent off and i wasn't planning on getting a silver or gold power supply anyway. In the end I cut about 30-40 dollars off of my total tab and lost between 2 and 4% efficiency probably.
