Will this Radeon HD7950 GPU work on my power supply?

Hi,

I picked up a Gigabyte Windforce Radeon 7950, but I am worried that my power supply won't be able to handle as it is only 400w it so I haven't installed it yet.

The model of my power supply is Seasonic SS-400ET. Is this GPU safe to install in my system?

This is what the system I have looks like:
Asus Z97-A
Intel G3258 CPU
750ti video card
8GB DDR3
Asus Xonar STX sound card
400w seasonic power supply

Seasonic is a good brand, so the quality of the PSU is not really in question. But 400W is cutting it a little bit close. In theory, it could handle the load, but it will probably degrade it faster. I would look to upgrading to a 500W unit, just in case.

Go with at least a 500 that has 25 AMPs on the 12 volt, not sure what model, but it prob doesn't have the PCI-E connectors needed for a 7950
