First of all no Fanboys from NVIDIA or AMD or XFX ok please.
I want answer from a person who had experienced them all at first place or having a Technical Knowledge,
Please I want a reasonable Priced and Acceptable Performance graphics card.

Solution
Price Performance AMD automatically wins ( XFX is just AN AMD partner that makes non reference cooling )

Performance Power Consumption Nvidia wins (not talking about the 4XX GTX cards)

Right now the newset AMD card is more than 1 year old AKA Hawaii chips R9 290/R9 290X and almost everything elss is a refresh or a stop gap like tonga R9 265 ( the R9 380X should be announced somewhere on April at least or when they run out of R9 290 to sell lol )

Nvidia Newest cards is the 980/970 both are good hell the 970 consuoms the power of a 7950 and Gets a slightly better frames than the R9 290X and runs very cold with a non reference desgine u wont even need the fans to turn on if u have a cold case / cold room

BTW the 970 has VRAM...
lol XFX just manufacturer the cards its Nvidia and AMD, But theres a disadvantage and advantage to both card makers, i myself switched from nvidia to AMD but there both great and nvidia right now is doing great with there 900 series

BTW the 970 has VRAM issues when accesing more than 3.5GB the last 512MB partition is very slow and tanks the Bandwidth might give u stutter

TL;DR Low power high performance low heat low noise GTX970 should do for 1080P u shouldint hit more than 3.5GB unless play Unity or anything made by the assassins creed team / watch dogs team

Price/Performance High power consumption runs fairly cold and quite with Tri-X and Tri-X vapor X cooler is the R9 290/R9 290X

R9 290 and R9 290X can be found around the 250-290 USD mark

GTX970 310-350USD

GTX980 around 550USD

Its like asking which is better, Tea or Coffee? They perform similar functions and are both hot drinks. Price and quality varies between manufacturer also, so each product needs assessed on an individual level.

You cannot definitively say one is better. You can compare individual cards but it still comes down to what your personal preference is and how much you're willing to spend. I prefer Nvidia, because I like low temps and the 600 and 900 series are great for that, my friend however has a AMD tri-x 290 that is blazingly quick but runs what I would consider hot.

The choice is yours!
