My Specs:
8GB Ballistix Sport DDR3 RAM
Sapphire Radeon R9 270X Dual-X Boost AMD Graphics Card 2GB
Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P AMD Socket AM3+ Motherboard
2TB Hard drive
LiteOn 24x DVD RW Drive

The Problem:
I had a EVGA 500W PSU And I have had it running for the past 3 months and its hasn't been a problem. But yesterday I had a little power serge on my plug sockets affecting my extension lead that contained My monitor, Speakers and my Computer. I unplugged everything and plug it back in. Everything worked but my computer.

I took out my PSU and took it round my brothers house and tested it on his computer and it still didn't work. He then took his PSU round my house and his PSU worked on my computer. (That was only to see if the Power serge also affected my motherboard.)

My Question: Was I using just a little under 500W to cause it or Is it even enough to handle my system?

Thanks in advance, Lee.

Solution
The 500w was enough to power your computer, it should have surge protection but if it does, it didn't work. Send it to the warranty service or get another one.
