The Z97 PC mate is not a good board either. It is in the same class as the Z97 anniversary. The Asrock Z97 extreme3 is the least expensive board I would recommend. I would build it something like this. Keep in mind that I do not include any mail in rebates, for build suggestions, so mine is going to look significantly higher.

I would change the PSU to an XFX XTR 650w and change the GPU to a Gigabyte,MSI 4G or Asus Strix 970. Apart from that it is quite a good build.

It depends on your budget. I'd get the Asus, EVGA or GB. As they're the most reliable brands out there, IMHO. For your PSU I'd get these http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-ss750am I'll be using it in a couple of months too. Though, 600w+ would suffice. Let me know your thoughts
