Suggest a board.

I am building a PC for a family member. The needs of the person is quite small. No gaming, essentially only office work and very limited entertainment. The max load this PC will experience is when watching videos on youtube - that's it. The only real requirement is the price - it ought to be as cheap as possible - we're talking max $100 for a board and around 4gigs of RAM.

I have a spare A4-3400 laying around, which of course is an APU. So my question for you, is to suggest a cheap but decent board with FM1 socket and A55 or A75 chipset.

Right, the size of the board is kind of important as well, a microATX is preferred. I am also building the case for the PC and my framework thus far will fit perfectly with a microATX and a small PSU.

My own initial thought was to buy the Biostar A55MLV microATX, but I simply want to hear what you guys think. Usually you can come up with a better alternative than my initial commitment.

I appreciate any comments.

Yeah I know, it has actually been quite hard to find any FM1 boards in my country, since most of the boards are no longer in production. The only reason why I seek this socket, is because I had the APU laying around - might put it to some use and help a family member.

However, I appreciate your comments, if I could I would choose both of you as the best answer, however the honor is Mr. @rolli59's for being first.

Thanks.

Good luck!

So, as a last post in this thread I found a very cheap but quite decent Gigabyte FM1 board with A55 chipset, for 20 dollars. It was a national hardware surplus stock company, who had some units of the GA-A75M-DS2 (rev. 2.0). It is a mATX as well - so it is absolutely perfect, and I do not think I've ever bought a 20 dollar board. It is quite ugly though, one of the worst boards I've ever seen in terms of aesthetics.

Inspected the board at the shop, looked fine. Installed the APU with 2x2GB of 1333mhz RAM when I came home, and there was no problems.

Thinking about installing Linux as the primary OS, preferably one of the most simplified derivatives , and then a lot of money is saved on the OS as well. Looking forward to handing this little PC to my family member.

Thanks for the help guys.
