Hi there

I have a new line with ADSL and bought this router TPLink Archer D7 brand new.
I started up and inserted my ADSL username and password, and the ADSL seems to connect.

I have a solid ADSL and internet light on the modem. My ISP can also confirm that I am connected to them, and they can see the account authenticates and works fine.

Unfortunately though, no devices I connect to the router can connect to the internet. I tried connecting my laptop via wired and wifi connection, I also tried connecting my android tablet via wifi. I am able to connect to the router successfully from all the devices, but I just have no internet access.

We also tried bridge and then pppoe dishing from the machine, that also failed to connect.

My ISP believes that this is a hardware issue. Can there be any other problems?

Disconnect the router and plug your computer directly into the modem to see if the internet works that way. If it does, then we know that the connection issue is occurring in the router.

A "connect no browse" situation can be caused by numerous things and can be somewhat annoying to troubleshoot depending on the issue. For instance I used to troubleshoot these kinds of issues for an ISP, and they had what was called a "walled garden" which when turned on, caused a no browse situation where everything appeared to be normal. When turned off, boom, everything was business as usual. The problem is most techs checked this last, so it was a very long call full of trial and error.

The channel the wireless is broadcasting can sometimes cause interruptions, but as long as the wifi signal is constant, then that basically eliminates that possibility.

If the modem browses fine once you take the router out of the equation, you may want to just do a reset of the modem and setup the wireless network again.

Sounds like you've got a problem with your DNS.
A way to check.

1. VIsit Google via IP address and see if you can reach google homepage.
2. can you ping 8.8.8.8 (google's DNS server)
3. You might have an issue with NAT. Nat should be enabled on your router.

dsl is about the modem being connected. the eth/lnk light is about the COMPUTER being connected (or router, if you have a router).
You would need to check the ip address of your network card in network connections. if a 192.x.x.x or 10.x.x.x (router numbers) number, enter in the default gateway address in a browser and what will open whatever router you have. If you can sign in, it will show you the status of your network.
If you have windows vista or newer, there is an icon beside the time that tells you if you have internet access or not.

"I have a solid ADSL and internet light on the modem"

This is the info he gave of the lights which would indicate that the modem is connected to the internet.
