I was using my PC and I heard a loud pop and something smelled like it was burning but I don't know what and when I hit the power button the processor fan doesn't turn on but the mother board light and gpu lights turn on everything was purchased from a store
600watt psu
AMD FX8320E
Nvidia gtx 550 super clocked
12GB ballistix ram
It has 2 laptop hard drives and a desktop one but they have been working fine did the cable for the CPU get burnt out cause the fan for it doesn't turn on even and I have switched everything but the hard drives and psu

That is great that a bunch of amateurs rated the psu well on newegg, however the people who are professionals that rate psu's and the people who follow them know that it is not a great PSU. Riadmax psu's have a decent rating on Newegg and their unofficial title on this forum is "motherboard killer". Raidmax for example builds their psu to pass the 80 plus certification and no regard to protecting your pc or how long it lasts, then when you (not you just a person in general) asks their friend "that knows computers" told you to buy one that was 80 plus rated and hey this raidmax one is only $30.

This a very good list of what is and is not a good power supply...

Oh and when it made the popping noise it shut off no overclocking was being done by me but the motherboard setting for overclocking was set to auto so I don't know if the CPU was overclocked

The pop would either be capacitors on the motherboard blowing or your power supply dying. Now since you said 600w psu and not a brand I am wondering if it is a cheap junk PSU, in which case the PSU is the likely candidate, and hopefully it did not take out all the other parts with it.

Remove the 24 pin connector from the motherboard, take a paperclip and jumper from the green wire to any black wire. If fans and lights turn on then it is the board, if it does not it is the psu

On the 24 pin cable that goes to the motherboard, that is the green wire I am refering to. It should be pin 16
atx-connector-20-24pin.jpeg

Now disconnect the harness from the motherboard, then do the paperclip test by jumpering the green wire to any black wire.
If power supply is not dead then the case fans and gpu should power on.
