Fx 6300 to i5 3570k

I found a i5 3570k on Micro Center for $170 and a used motherboard for $70 on ebay. I was wondering if it's worth the upgrade. Since I'm a gamer and don't use the extra cores, I think it would be worth but I want to see your guys' opinions.

Should be significant.

According to Toms CPU hierarchy, the 6300 sits high in Tier 3, while the 3570 sits low in tier 1.
Keep in mind you can OC the 'k' chips very well.

Forgot to update my build, just got a Vapor-X R9 280x for $150 (new). Would that change a lot in terms of performance?
