Hello,
i was talking to a guy in a computer shop today and he said that NAS write speeds are slow (at-least on his $500-AUD NAS box).
I wanted to buy a cheap(<$150) 2-Bay NAS box (and fill with 2x2TB drives in RAID 1) but am now worried about slow write speeds.
are there any 2-Bay NAS box's (pref from Australia such as PCCG.com or Ebay.com.au)
that have good write speeds (using WD drives) that get at least 60mb/s?
I do have a spare core 2 duo PC with 4gb ddr2 RAM (but SATA 2 though). would adding drives to this have higher write speeds across the network than one of those NAS boxes?
note: i will be running on gigabit wired modem/router.

-transfer 8gb+ files to and from
-Stream HD-movies
to other PC's on the LAN and my Samsung smart TV (which uses wifi).
