Will aftermarket thermal paste increase performance on a stock cpu cooler?

In making a new rig with the Pentium g3258 or, Pentium K. I will be using the stock cooler with pre applied thermal compound. However from my last rig I have Sims noctua compound left over. Is it really a huge performance difference?

the preapplied and worse quality but it's the perfect amount and spread, you can get a bit better results with the noctua but only if you also apply it close to perfection. not really sure it's worth to take the chances. i'm one of those " if it works don't fix it "
